Forgiveness

New Year Poetry Challenge, Prompt #1*
"Think of an object you were fascinated by as a child, or perhaps one you are fascinated by right now. Write a seven-line poem about it. No line can be more than seven words and so your poem should not be longer than 49 words."

Forgiveness

She handed me a crystal
knowing it was home with me.
Smoothing each side with my fingertips,
I was at peace with my grief.
Don't know if it was vulnerability
or consequence,
but with each stroke I forgave God.
